Native Beetle On The Rise in Fort Collins!

An Important Announcement Regarding Spruce IPS Beetle

For the last two years, Fort Collins and surrounding areas have seen a dramatic increase in Spruce Tree deaths caused by the Ips Beetle.

The Spruce Ips Beetle initially attacks and kills the tops of infested trees, then moves downward killing the entire tree relatively quickly.

Spruce Ips beetles typically attack trees that are experiencing some form of stress. Along with compacted soils, most urban trees experience chronic off-and-on drought stress, which makes them susceptible to infestations.

Once a tree is infested with Ips Beetle, there is no effective control for the insect, resulting in the need to remove the tree entirely.

Preventative treatments can be performed to protect your trees, which are highly effective, yet time sensitive.
