“We have a number of homes and buildings throughout the Boston area that we’re responsible for,” Aidan said. “Both in Boston and in Pembroke, Randolph, Marshfield, Scituate – basically this entire region. And that means there’s a lot of lawns to mow, hedges to keep trimmed, and just general yardwork that needs doing.”
For a while, Aidan’s company tried hiring summer laborers to handle the upkeep on their many properties. “That worked out terribly,” he said. “We’d have crews that just never showed up, or they would show up but only do half the job. We were getting complaints, both from the people who live in our buildings – because let’s face it, these places aren’t cheap, and people expect a certain standard for their residence – and even from other people in the community. Obviously this is unacceptable.”
