“My Mother loves her house, and she loves her birds,” Rene said. “She goes out there in her yard and sits on her chair with binoculars in hand, watching all the little ones flying around the feeder. Nothing makes her happier than when an unusual bird shows up: she’ll call me so excited, saying “You’ll never believe who came to visit me today!”
For years, Rene’s mother also enjoyed mowing her grass and other yard work around her Plymouth home. But then a series of strokes make that something she could no longer safely do. “This was a bigger issue than you’d think,” Rene said. “Mom would get so distressed at the way the yard looked. We tried having some local kid mow the grass, but he didn’t do things the way she thought she’d be done. She’d go right out there after him and re-do it, which wasn’t one bit safe.”
Finding professional lawn care in Plymouth solved Rene’s issues. “Now we have a good team coming in regularly, and they keep the lawn looking great,” she said. “More than that, they’re so friendly and professional toward Mom. She was very concerned about what kind of chemicals would be used to fertilize and treat the grass – god forbid something upset her precious birds! – and they spent the time going over how everything’s green and designed to work with the environment, rather than against it. It really gave her peace of mind.”
There’s been no more reports of Rene’s mother having to re-mow the lawn, and she’s experiencing much less emotional distress since the pros have been brought on board. “When your parents are determined to stay in their homes, it means you might have to get a little creative about how things are done,” Rene said. “Working with the Plymouth lawn service certainly made life easier for us!”
