Gnats, Midges, No-See-ums

Insect activity has been very high this spring for these tiny, but annoying insects.

Unfortunately, due to the gnat life cycle and behavior, there is very little to do from an insecticide treatment or spray perspective- most insecticide treatments will not help. Our best advice is to keep an oscillating fan on patio or deck areas to blow them away.

There is a natural product by Summit called Mosquito Bits (also Mosquito dunks but not as helpful for this)… you can pick them up at the home stores or amazon. This can be spread over your lawn, especially in wetter areas to disrupt the gnat lifecycle

A hat with a net can help when mowing. Our technicians have used those at times.
