Moths are the adult form of Sod Web worms, a common lawn pest. The larval stage of these moths is a voracious pest of lawns, and much more difficult to find than their flying adult counterparts.

Have you noticed a lot of brown lawns in your neighborhood? It may not be because of the Texas heat. Little worms, called tropical sod web worms, are wreaking havoc on grass all over our area.

If you see the moths flying around, it means that they could be dropping a lot of eggs on your lawn. The eggs hatch out into larva that eat up all the green areas of your lawn, this means you have sod web worms that are eating your grass roots.

Lawn Doctor recommendations are to have at least 3 insecticide sprays to your lawn yearly to help prevent insects from eating your lawn.

If you suspect you may have Sod web worms in your lawn, please call Lawn Doctor of Cypress immediately for treatment options.
