Lawn Doctor of Central and Southern Erie County is owned and operated by Ken and Carrie Matynka. Ken was born and raised in the Lancaster area. In the early years, he was a Volunteer Fireman with Townline Volunteer Fire Department. He rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Chief. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona to start working as a Fireman with Hughes Aircraft. They subsequently changed their name to Raytheon Missile Systems. He once again rose through the ranks to become Battalion Chief.
Carrie was born into a military family in San Antonio, Texas, traveling to Japan and many other places. Following in her father’s footsteps, she went on to sign up with the Air Force and became a firefighter. She met Ken while working at Raytheon, married in the Spring of 1990 and together, raised four children.
They moved back to the Western New York area, where they feel their hearts are, and are busy helping family members and enjoying life. They both enjoy being outdoors during all seasons, listening to a vast array of music, playing their guitars, camping, NASCAR, watching the Buffalo Bills play (should be an interesting season this year!), and meeting new people.
Ken and Carrie chose Lawn Doctor to help fulfill their dream of working for themselves. The two are no strangers to hard work and their unwavering work ethic and their children’s support will be the driving force behind their success bringing “Personal attention to our customer’s needs, treating you with respect and treating your lawn as our own.”
