They begin as an egg. Once the egg hatches, the flea becomes a larva (similar to a caterpillar); then they spin a silken cocoon (pupa). Their last stage is the adult. Every flea seen is an adult.<\/li>\n<li>The adult flea will remain on the host (your pet) its entire life. Fleas are capable of producing 50 eggs per day. That is equivalent to more than 160,000 fleas in a little more than sixty days.<\/li>\n<li>These eggs are laid on your pet, and will later drop off wherever your pet goes, i.e. your carpet, furniture, etc. In order to gain control of these pests, please treat your pets on the same day that our technicians provide service to your home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong> Ticks\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Ticks require blood meals to complete development; once each as a larva, nymph and adult.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on the type of tick and amount of blood consumed, ticks can lay up to 6000 eggs.<\/li>\n<li>Once feeding has been completed, the tick will drop off the host to find a suitable nesting site. These sites will include cracks and crevices, behind framed pictures and in dog runs.<\/li>\n<li>Their life cycle, in ideal conditions, takes approximately 60 days. If food is not present, ticks can live approximately 5 months in each stage with the consumption of a blood meal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-qtag-num=\"MDreamDesign10-24-17\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fleas Fleas have a complete metamorphosis.
