Why are Weeds Such a Problem?<\/strong><\/p>\n Some weeds serve a beneficial role, providing food for insects and native wildlife. They\u2019re not all so beautiful that you want them growing in your yard. Additionally, weeds use the resources \u2013 soil nutrients and water \u2013 that your grass needs to thrive. If weeds are in your yard, your grass is in competition with them. And sometimes, when there are too many weeds, your grass loses that battle.<\/p>\n Be aware that not all weeds are beneficial. Some, such as ragweed, can contribute to allergies, while others like nettles are spiky \u2013 a barefoot child who steps on some nettles is not going to be happy about it!<\/p>\n
