Noticing small, round patches popping up in your lawn? Has the recent weather consisted of lots of high humidity\u00a0and long periods of rain? If yes, you could be dealing with the common lawn disease Dollar Spot.<\/p>\n

Dollar Spot\u2019s appearance consists of little circles in clusters throughout the lawn, brown in color and about the size of a Silver Dollar (hence the name). It effects almost all types of grass, but most notably Fescue, Rye, Bent, Blue, Bermuda and Zoysia. Dollar Spot is most often seen anywhere from late Spring to late Fall, when temperatures hover around 60-85 degrees.<\/p>\n

There are three major factors that can induce Dollar Spot in a lawn, which are<\/p>\n

  1. Mowing too short<\/li>\n
  2. Not applying enough fertilizer<\/li>\n
  3. Consistently wet leaves\/debris<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Help combat this infestation by cutting your lawn to the recommended 3-4 inches, keep the lawn healthy with consistent fertilizer applications, and water in the morning so the midday sun dries things up before temps cool down at night.<\/p>\n
