\u201cLast year our lawn was a disaster,\u201d Aimee said. \u201cI\u2019d had all these amazing plans \u2013 we were going to have an Alice in Wonderland party, where everyone wearing costumes \u2013 but then I went out and really looked at the yard. We\u2019d been having a local kid come out and mow the grass each week, so I assumed things would be just fine. But things were not just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aimee\u2019s yard had big brown patches where her children and dog played. \u201cThere was absolutely no grass growing at all,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cThey had the area around the swing set worn down to the bare dirt. You don\u2019t even want to know what it looked like where they were riding their bikes!\u201d<\/p>\n
Weeds were also an issue. \u201cDandelions I don\u2019t actually care about,\u201d Aimee said. \u201cThey\u2019re cute and cheerful. But we didn\u2019t really have dandelions. We have all these nasty picky plants that grow ten times faster than any of the grass \u2013 even when they\u2019re mowed short, you don\u2019t want to step on them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aimee got in touch with her local Marshfield lawn service to develop a plan to transform her lawn. \u201cI wanted the weeds gone and the grass back,\u201d she said. \u201cReally vibrant green grass, that\u2019s tough enough to stand up to my kids and pretty enough for entertaining. And with all these headlines about Ticks and the Zika virus? I\u2019d like the lawn to be pest free as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year, the party was a no-go,\u201d Aimee said. \u201cBut now that I have professionals planting grass, getting rid of the weeds, and giving me a yard I can be proud of, it\u2019s time to start planning.
