\u201cOne of the things I love about living in Randolph is that so many of the homes are really beautiful,\u201d Carrie said. \u201cNot just the actual structure of the home, but the lawns and gardens are breathtaking. And I\u2019ve noticed that the best ones have some kind of unique quality about them, whether that\u2019s the way they have their shrubs, or the plants in their flower garden, to the total package, with the grass and everything looking so perfect.\u201d She shrugged her shoulders. \u201cI know that some people do all this work themselves, but I have two black thumbs. That\u2019s why we work with the lawn service right here in Randolph.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe guys from the lawn service are great,\u201d she said. \u201cThey come out and take care of the grass \u2013 every aspect, so it\u2019s fertilized and aerated and all the pests are dealt with. And when I told them I wanted to put in some flowers along the front of the house, near the entrance way and along the sidewalk, they were more than happy to make that happen for me \u2013 but I didn\u2019t know exactly what I wanted>\u201d<\/p>\n
On the advice of a friend, Carrie started visiting some of Massachusetts\u2019 many Botanic Gardens. \u201cThere are a lot of Botanic Gardens in this part of the state,\u201d she said, \u201cRight around the Randolph area. So I went and I brought my phone and I took pictures of everything I loved. And then I talked to the lawn service guys and said, \u201cWhat about this, and this, and this?\u201d She laughed. \u201cThey were very kind at telling me what would and wouldn\u2019t thrive given my lawn\u2019s current condition, and steered me toward the very hardy, very easy to grow plants.\u201d She chuckled. \u201cNow I\u2019m getting a kick out of my little flowerbed while they handle the bigger part of keeping my yard looking great. It\u2019s the perfect combination that\u2019s given my Randolph yard its own unique charm \u2013 or so I hope!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
